Senator raises alarm as JTF clamps down on Okene residents

Joint Task Force,JTF increase effort in search of suspected terrorists in the Central Senatoral District of kogi state, as Senator Nurrudeen Abatemi Usman  raises  an alarm over attack the  on  the residents of Okene by the   military men.

The JTF who have embarked on house to house search since they were drafted to the area by the federal government following the mass killing of worshippers in the church and two soldiers were alleged to have subjected people to physical torture and humiliation in an alleged retaliation for the death of their colleagues.
The Senator Nurrudeen Abatemi Usman  who is representing the Kogi Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly,  has called on residents of the area to continue to remain calm and law-abiding saying he has forwarded their complains to the Inspector general of police and the chief of army staff on the matter.
In a statement signed by Michael Jegede, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Abatemi-Usman, and made available to journalists in Lokoja on Friday, the Senator disclosed that he has discussed with leadership of the security agencies and he has been assured that they have been duly cautioned to concentrate on fishing out the criminals and not to punish the  innocent citizens.
